"have turned a longtime casual collaboration into a gorgeous collection of compelling, thoughtful and artfully composed tunes that balance wistful maturity with a certain earnest and eternally young expression. Not quite pop, not quite anything else, these songs feature an amazingly comfortable balance between their influences, sounds and styles"

"a fusion of hard rock melody and post-hardcore heaviness whose raw, emotional power is matched in intensity only by the band's earnest approach to songwriting"

"All summer, he has been hard at work in the studio putting the final touches on his debut album. Influenced by artists such as Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Radiohead, his piano-vocal combo has enabled him to create a coffee shop niche in his home town of Bloomington, IN.  As a singer, songwriter, photographer, and former professional model, his creativity shines through in all that he does. His early music has been described as "more angry and aggressive."  However, in recent years his music has matured to reflect his personal growth. That transformation can be heard in his current musical style. Imagine if Rufus Wainwright joined Depeche Mode and then had a baby with Tori Amos... Get the picture?"

"In this world, you think you have no reason to believe in love or in anything much. Then one day, when you least expect it, a light appears on the far horizon. It's a flickering light, begging you to come, telling you to stay away. It's the pale fire. The promise of love and hope - all consuming and elusive. Yet for a moment, it brings clarity in the darkness, future to the ruins and power to the fight."

"When the three members met just one year ago, their chemistry was instantaneous and forming a band seemed the next and most logical thing to do.  While already close to having an LP's worth of tracks ready to go, they are eager to share with the world the songs that make up this album."

"The music on our debut EP expresses unconscious influences on the late 90's / early 200's alternative rock and infuses it with a modern, almost progressive, twist. Sometimes apocalyptic, and sometimes grungey. With a singer whose voice sounds like Brandon Boyd and Maynard James Keenan had a baby, combined with big and heavy dynamic instrumentals, our sound is colourful contours over hard hits, like a sword fight with a bag of skittles."

"A distinctive, standout voice not to be missed..."

"Think Nick Drake meets Nick Cave meets Slowdive...surrounded by Doves."

"After a strong response to their first EP, they bring a mix of vocal and instrumental stylings that are as flawlessly harmonious as they are dark and haunting. This explores the South at its roughest and most raw. Each tale is made all the more gritty by his dry, gravelly snarl-- a voice perfect for his broken characters who would seem all but damned if not for the angelic redemption found in his harmonies. Straightforward, uncomplicated, and unpolished, these songs resonate like the old Appalachian ballads from which they are clearly inspired, and their simple potency. Fans of acoustic music and vocal chemistry will find this remarkable both for the power of its songs and the prowess of its players."

“We’ve been called the biggest band nobody’s ever heard of. People either know everything about us or they know nothing. There never seems to be any middle ground."

"glittering with a heavy alt-country influence that is tangled with and inspired by summer days full of wanderlust, this album finds a remarkable comfort in the raw, organic aesthetic"

"Harking back to luminaries as varied as Bowie, Madness and Morrissey, his sound is born to an eclectic family of influences. It is bound together, however, by a razor sharp delivery which simply cannot be ignored."

"dusty jukebox rock, chock full of rockabilly numbers that will conjure a boot-stomping moon-invoking dance party on the back porch."

"I feel music is a process of self-discovery, but also an exploration of how I interact and relate to others. My intention with this album was to make a collection of songs that were direct and succinct enough to be the soundtrack for a short film; songs that have a tight focus, lots of visual imagery, and easily discernible characters, plot, and context. The title track was inspired by seeing old home movies of my grandparents. This notion is audible in the cinematic/atmospheric aspect of the album's sound. The songs began with an acoustic guitar and voice, but the sonic and percussive layers fill the narrative."

"rife with shimmering sonic beds that provide some serious launching places (and landing pads) for some serious, soaring melodies"

"an electronic indie pop trio from Columbia, South Carolina [RIYL: The Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens, Toro y Moi] the second installment of a series of albums dedicated to various meteor showers"

"This painful, dark and, at times, hauntingly beautiful compilation of tracks that builds off of the early work of acts like SoM, 45 Grave, and even flirts with ambient and darkwave music. Where there is a desire for many goth-related acts to be pigeonholed into a specific genre classification, this unites these previously disparate strains. The dark inspirations will turn heads in gothic rock, metal and industrial communities worldwide."

The record dreams big with bright synths, warbling bass and guitar-based songs that twinkle and shimmer. It's about the push and pull between freedom and love/inspiration with some wildly optimistic, magical futurism mixed in. 8/2/12

"Once again playing all instruments on this self produced record, my work has been called 'revolutionary' and garnered comparisons to diverse artists like Trent Reznor, Frank Zappa and Tori Amos."

"Their self-taught ingenuity and playfulness reflected a unique vibe that others have compared to sounds from an after hours cellar in Greenwich Village in the early 60s. Others have compared their instrumental diversity and love of the tune to the more playful side of the Velvet Underground or The Magnetic Fields, blending folk influences with modern electronic twists, pushing their song writing to a new level, exploring electronic layering and beats, and intricate vocal harmonies."

The 13-tracks that make up this album are full of a raw hard-rock energy, intense vocals layered over building drums and invigorating electric guitar solos, leaving him exposed and explosive with this heavy new direction. He tackles a huge sound with dedication and an ear for honesty. There is no doubt that this pushes him to greater heights as an artist and songwriter, making this his best collection of songs to date!   7/31/12

My music of late seems to be a mashup of Beatles-meets-Rundgren-meets-XTC in a streetfight where everyone wins and heads off together for a cheap beer. I really am a little afraid of how much of myself is in this batch of songs, but I can't bring myself to do it any other way. I'm immensely proud of how this little sonic therapy session turned out.

"This album that I am submitting for review is a pleasant, simple geeky pop album. The goal is to make clean, classy, and fun music on the family computer in my dining room."
